Effective Date: September 16, 2026
Black Apparel Makers Support Circle – Los Angeles (“BAMSC,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) develops and maintains resources designed to help people discover, understand, navigate, and connect with the Black fashion and apparel ecosystem throughout Greater Los Angeles. BAMSC is operated by Arrington Creative Holdings, LLC.
This Directory & Resource Listing Policy explains the general principles governing businesses, professionals, organizations, institutions, and other resources appearing within The Black Fashion Ecosystem and other BAMSC resource collections.
1. Purpose of the Black Fashion Ecosystem
The Black Fashion Ecosystem is a community resource designed to make the people, businesses, organizations, services, institutions, and infrastructure supporting Black participation in the Greater Los Angeles fashion and apparel industry easier to discover and navigate. Its purpose is straightforward: Navigate what exists. Connect what exists. Help build what’s missing.
The resource may include established organizations and businesses as well as independent professionals, emerging enterprises, community resources, and specialized apparel-industry services. BAMSC intends for this resource to grow and evolve over time.

3. Geographic Focus
The primary geographic focus of The Black Fashion Ecosystem is Greater Los Angeles. Depending upon the category and usefulness of a particular resource, BAMSC may also identify regional, statewide, national, or online resources that provide meaningful services, information, opportunities, or connections to the Greater Los Angeles Black fashion community. Such resources may be identified separately when appropriate.
4. General Listing Considerations
BAMSC may consider a variety of factors when determining whether a resource is appropriate for inclusion. Depending upon the category, these considerations may include:
- relevance to fashion, apparel, textiles, retail, manufacturing, creative industries, or supporting
services; - connection to the Black fashion or business ecosystem;
- service to Greater Los Angeles;
- an identifiable and active business, professional, organization, program, or resource;
- availability of sufficient information to create a useful listing; and
- consistency with the educational and community-resource purposes of BAMSC.
Not every resource must meet identical criteria because different categories serve different functions within the ecosystem.
5. Free Listings
BAMSC’s basic Black Fashion Ecosystem resource listings are intended to function as a free community resource. BAMSC does not require a business or professional to purchase a basic listing simply to be considered for inclusion.
If BAMSC develops sponsorships, advertising, enhanced profiles, events, partnerships, or other paid opportunities in the future, those arrangements will be identified separately from basic resource listings. Payment for a separate BAMSC service or sponsorship will not automatically determine eligibility for a basic resource listing.
6. How Resources Are Identified
Resources may come to BAMSC’s attention through:
- submissions from businesses or professionals;
- community recommendations;
- referrals;
- professional associations;
- publicly available business information;
- industry research;
- BAMSC outreach;
- established professional relationships;
- community organizations; or
- BAMSC’s continuing research into the Greater Los Angeles fashion ecosystem.
A business or professional does not necessarily need to have contacted BAMSC personally before publicly available business information is referenced within the resource.
7. Submitting a Resource
Businesses, professionals, organizations, institutions, and community members may recommend resources for consideration. Submitting information does not guarantee publication. BAMSC may request information such as:
- business or professional name;
- category of service;
- business description;
- location or service area;
- website;
- business email;
- business telephone number;
- social-media accounts;
- photographs or logos where appropriate;
- ownership or organizational information relevant to the applicable directory category; and
- other information reasonably necessary to understand the resource.
BAMSC may independently verify publicly available information before publishing or updating a listing.
8. Inclusion Is Not an Endorsement
A listing within The Black Fashion Ecosystem or another BAMSC resource does not constitute an endorsement, certification, accreditation, warranty, recommendation, or guarantee by BAMSC. BAMSC does not guarantee:
- workmanship;
- product quality;
- professional qualifications;
- licensing;
- insurance;
- availability;
- capacity;
- pricing;
- delivery schedules;
- customer service;
- financial condition;
- business practices; or
- results.
Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before hiring, purchasing from, contracting with, investing in, or otherwise conducting business with a listed resource.
A listing is a connection point – not a guarantee.
9. No Ranking or Preferred Status
Unless a particular feature is expressly identified otherwise, the order or placement of resources within a category should not be interpreted as a ranking. Being listed first, last, prominently, or within a particular section does not necessarily indicate that BAMSC considers one resource superior to another. BAMSC’s role is to help make the ecosystem more visible and navigable – not to determine winners and losers within it.
10. Accuracy of Listings
BAMSC makes reasonable efforts to provide useful information, but businesses and organizations change. Addresses, telephone numbers, websites, personnel, ownership, services, hours, capabilities, and operating status may change without notice. BAMSC therefore cannot guarantee that every listing will always be complete or current. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to notify BAMSC when information needs to be updated.
11. Corrections and Updates
A listed business, professional, organization, or institution may contact BAMSC to request correction or updating of factual information concerning its listing. BAMSC may request reasonable verification before making certain changes. BAMSC welcomes corrections because the usefulness of The Black Fashion Ecosystem depends upon maintaining accurate information.
12. Removal Requests
A business, professional, or organization may request that its listing be reviewed for removal. BAMSC will evaluate reasonable removal requests, particularly where a listing primarily contains information voluntarily submitted by the listed party.
Removal of a directory profile does not necessarily require BAMSC to remove independent editorial, historical, educational, archival, journalistic, or other lawful references to a person, business, organization, or historical event appearing elsewhere within BAMSC’s educational resources or Virtual Black Fashion Museum.
13. BAMSC's Right to Decline or Remove Listings
BAMSC may decline, suspend, revise, reclassify, or remove a resource when reasonably necessary to maintain the usefulness, integrity, safety, or purpose of its resources. Reasons may include, but are not limited to:
- inaccurate or materially misleading information;
- inability to reasonably verify the existence or relevance of a resource;
- a business that appears to have ceased operations;
- fraudulent or deceptive submissions;
- misuse of BAMSC’s name or resources;
- listings that no longer fit the purpose or geographic focus of the resource;
- significant safety concerns supported by credible information; or
- other circumstances that make continued inclusion inappropriate.
Removal or non-inclusion should not automatically be interpreted as a public judgment by BAMSC regarding a business, individual, or organization.
14. Community Feedback
BAMSC welcomes factual corrections and credible information that may help improve the accuracy and usefulness of its resources. However, BAMSC is not intended to operate as a consumer complaint website or public review platform.
BAMSC may decline to publish accusations, personal disputes, unverified allegations, anonymous attacks, or other material that cannot reasonably be evaluated. Where appropriate, individuals involved in contractual, legal, financial, employment, or consumer disputes should use the appropriate professional, regulatory, mediation, or legal channels.
15. Public and Private Information
BAMSC distinguishes between information intended for public resource listings and information provided privately through BAMSC’s intake or assistance process. Private client or intake information will not ordinarily be converted into a public directory listing without appropriate authorization. Public business information submitted specifically for inclusion in The Black Fashion Ecosystem may be displayed publicly. Handling of personal information is further addressed in the BAMSC Privacy Policy.
16. Black Fashion Associations and Community Organizations
The Black Fashion Ecosystem may include nonprofit organizations, membership organizations, professional associations, business associations, community organizations, educational institutions, advocacy organizations, museums, archives, and other entities serving relevant communities. Their inclusion is intended to help visitors understand the broader ecosystem of available resources.
Listing an organization does not mean that the organization formally sponsors, endorses, funds, partners with, or is affiliated with BAMSC unless such a relationship is expressly identified. Likewise, BAMSC’s inclusion of another organization should not be interpreted as competing with or attempting to replace that organization’s programs or services.
17. Building What's Missing
The Black Fashion Ecosystem is intended not only to document existing resources but also to help identify gaps in Greater Los Angeles’s Black fashion infrastructure. A category containing few resources may therefore remain visible.
An incomplete category can itself provide useful information about areas of the ecosystem that may need additional development, investment, entrepreneurship, training, or community support.
18. Work in Progress
The Black Fashion Ecosystem is currently under development and will continue to expand. The absence of a business, professional, organization, association, institution, or resource does not mean that BAMSC has rejected, excluded, or made a judgment about that entity. No directory of a living business ecosystem can reasonably be considered permanently complete. Visitors are encouraged to return as additional resources are researched, verified, organized, and added.
19. Changes to This Policy
BAMSC may revise this Directory & Resource Listing Policy as its resources, programs, partnerships, technology, and community activities evolve. The effective date appearing above identifies the current version.
